I stumbled across this site today: http://www.fwfr.com
FWFR stands for "The Four Word Film Review". Basically the idea is that reviews tend to be a bit wordy.. the average reader skips through most of it anyway, so why not get the reviewer to sum it up in four words? Great idea, I thought. Till I read the reviews. Unfortunately, I think four words is too short. Reviewers try packing a lot meaning-wise into the tiny quota and the review ends up like a clue from a cryptic crossword! For example, some reviews from Horton Hears a Who:
Pachyderm protects pint-sized peeps.
Trunk call: Carell-Carrey.
However this was quite funny:
Horton hears, Who cares.
I'm all for pruning content back to the essential, though I think a more sensible approach is that of
http://abriefmessage.com
"A Brief Message features design opinions expressed in short form...200 words or less ".
PS: this article checks in at 187 words, so I guess I passed the test :-)
